Schnauzerfest Theme Song:

Sung to the tune of, "Get Your Kicks on Route 66"

If you ever plan to trial out west,
Grab your Schnauzer, hit the highway that’s best
Get your licks on route sixty-six

It winds from chicago to la
More than two thousand miles all the way
Get your licks on route sixty-six

Now you run through saint looey
Growl through missouri
In oklahoma city it’s barks and furry
You track Amarillo,
Blind search new mexico
Jumps in arizona
A-frame in winona,
Schutzhund, dog show, san bernadino

Won’t you bring your dog and take this tip:
When you train for that california trip
Get your licks on route sixty-six

Solo

Won’t you bring your dog and take this tip:
As you train for that california trip
Get your licks on route sixty-six
Get your licks on route sixty-six
Get your licks on route sixty-six

TRIAL RESULTS IN COMPETITORS SECTION

OCTOBER 8-10, 2010

IN 1990...

a few Schnauzer enthusiasts in the United States planned and put together an event they called "Schnauzerfest". They brought their dogs together to meet one another because they had a common interest in the development and training of the breed "Riesenschnauzer", as it is called in it's country of origin.

The group recognized the strength and abilities of the Riesenschnauzer as a working dog and their goal was to maintain the breed as described in it's original standard. So the group made plans to sponsor and host events to examine the progress of their efforts.

They decided that the best way to do this would be to organize and test the breeds temperament and willingness to work based on internationally recognized events such as Schutzhund trials, working seminars, and conformation events.

IN 1991...

The group created a "federation" of Riesenschnauzer owners and called the organization, "The Working Schnauzer Federation" or WSF. Since that time, the organization has taken on the name, "Working Riesenschnauzer Federation" or WRSF and has hosted an annual Schnauzerfest each year since the first one in 1990!

As we celebrate our 20th Anniversary "Fest", hosted by the West Coast K9 Training Academy, we hope that you will join us and support the WRSF and this wonderful breed!
